A 9th day at the museum with the Bidochon

A long river, not always calm, these visits to museums with the Bidochon. We are on the ninth museum day, still under the leadership of Binet, Ramade and Lacôte. The logic of the infernal couple is ultimately full of very French common sense, it is their trademark. The last visit was almost four years ago, 2021. What did the Bidochon do during that time? Come on, we don’t blame them, they make up for it with twenty works presented in a single epic breath, Bosch to Titian via Raphael. By car Raymonde.

Kupra, woman with lipstick, finally the title is lipstick n°2 (Centre Pompidou) and subtle Robert is sure that the woman was added by the painter who had forgotten the title. A Czech Kupra who painted this canvas in 1908. An abstract about which we know everything in the two pages which follow as for each artist. The rest is Antonin Slavicek, atmosphere of birches, (Prague national gallery) superb light in the forest where Robert had stepped on a deer dropping. We stay with a Czech who painted his canvas for him in 1897. Marked by Barbizon, he likes landscapes in the rain. Return to with Albert Gleizes ( Musée des Beaux-Arts) and the portrait of the publisher Eugène Figuière. A cubist, hence a somewhat twisted portrait for Raymonde who is not sure that the model recognized herself. 1913 and Gleizes is the pioneer of Cubism and returns to Catholicism. His work will be marked by it.

Delacroix with a seated nude (on a stool), dazzling, Émile Bernard with a symbolic self-portrait or Titian with the extremely famous Man with a Glove, we are not going to cite them all because the visits of the Bidochon must retain their share of mystery. Binet carries them up and down the hills, with humor and a smile on his face. The Bidochon revolve around the void. A nod to the herring fought over by two Ensor skeletons, it doesn’t make them want to eat it as a couple. To the happiness of the arts, and here we go, a volume full of remarkable unexpected events.
