A 16-year-old boy was killed during a brawl between rival gangs near a high school. The victim was found unconscious, stabbed with a knife.
On an amateur video, filmed Tuesday, December 17, a 16-year-old young man, on the ground, is seriously injured with a knife. Around 8:30 a.m., in front of a high school in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, a violent fight broke out between teenagers. The victim tried to escape his attackers before collapsing a few meters away. The caretaker of a building gave him first aid. “It’s always hard to see children like that who end up stabbed.” confides Manuel Rodrigues.
Despite help, the young man died in hospital in the morning. Originally from Val-de-Marne, he did not attend high school. According to the police, he could belong to a group of teenagers who compete over neighborhood rivalries. They observed the use of tear gas on the spot, as “on all the fights, almost”says Reda Belhaj, delegate of the SGO Police Île-de-France unit.
The 13th arrondissement is particularly affected by this type of violence, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office. In the evening, a suspect was taken into custody.
