At Décoders, we have been telling you about the world and the news in figures, maps and graphs for ten years. At a time when the newspaper is celebrating its 80th anniversary, it seemed logical to us to cover the news of Monde in the same way: in data.
For the purposes of this article, a first version of which was published on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the newspaper, we delved into the depths of the archives of the Monde and its 24,856 editions, with the valuable assistance of the editorial IT service, to extract a simple count: which country makes the most headlines in the Monde since 1944?
