VINCI inaugurates the D4 motorway, a technological and ecological jewel
The Czech Republic has just marked an important milestone for the future of its road infrastructure with the inauguration of the D4 motorway, built by the French giant VINCI. This highway, located approximately 40 km southwest of Praguemarks a turning point in regional mobility, facilitating the link between the rural areas of South Bohemia and the major economic routes to Germany and Austria.

An impressive achievement in just 4 years
Completed in less than four years, this technical feat includes the construction of 32 km of new roads and the rehabilitation of 16 km of existing roads. The project required the engagement of up to 1,600 workers, illustrating the know-how and efficiency of VINCI Construction.
Ecological commitment and innovation
VINCI integrated environmentally friendly practices throughout the project. The reuse of excavated materials, the recycling of asphalt, and the use of solar energy for operations demonstrate a desire to minimize the ecological footprint. In addition, crossings dedicated to wildlife and the revegetation of areas adjacent to the highway reinforce this commitment.
Management and maintenance
Management of the highway is entrusted to VINCI Highways for a period of 24 years after completion of the work. This segment includes rigorous maintenance and constant monitoring, thus ensuring safety and comfort for all users.
A strategic investment
With a budget of 530 million euros, this partnership illustrates the confidence and investment of public and private actors in the potential of this infrastructure. The contract, signed in February 2021 with the concession company Via Salis, paves the way for optimized, long-term management of the highway.
