Without a coaching position since his departure from Châteauroux in October 2021, Marco Simone gave his news before Monaco/PSG, two of his former clubs. And the Italian now works for PSG.
Revealed at AC Milan, where he spent eight seasons and won four Italian championship titles, as well as the 1994 Champions League, Marco Simone played two seasons at PSG (from 1997 to 1999) before joining AS Monaco, with whom he was champion of France and which he then coached in Ligue 2 during the 2011-2012 season.
After inglorious experiences as a coach in Tours, Laval or even more recently at Châteauroux, Marco Simone finds himself without a bench since his dismissal from Berrichonne in October 2021. At the dawn of Monaco / PSG, a match inevitably special for him , the 55-year-old Italian gave his news to the daily Monaco-Matin.

“For the moment I am technical director of the Paris Saint-Germain academies in the United Arab Emirates. I go back and forth between Dubai and Monaco”confided Marco Simone, before detailing his role: “I am the coach of coaches (smile). There are 1,200 kids between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and around twenty educators. I have to organize the training weeks for each category under the supervision of PSG. All the big clubs in the world are in the Emirates. It brings visibility for the brand. If there are exceptional players, they are reported. »
If Marco Simone is busy at the moment, he hopes to find a bench soon: “I miss coaching a lot! Last year I was coach at the Emirates, I signed for one season and there was no follow-up. I would like to have a professional team on my hands. I had offers in Europe and the Maghreb but I refused them”. And a return to France? “I have an opportunity but at the moment it’s blocked. Or ? I can’t say it! (laughs). I can only say that it’s in L1”he confided.
Finally, the former PSG and AS Monaco scorer delivered his prediction for the Ligue 1 title race and believes that “Paris remains the favorite, the strongest team”.
