Even if the property tax increases by 3.3% for the year 2025…

Valdorians see their municipal tax rate reduced compared to 2024.

It is in fact because of the increase in the average value of homes in Val-d’Or that the tax is increasing.

One of the reasons for the increase of 6.2 million in next year’s budget is the increase in the payroll of City employees.

In terms of the work planned in the budget, Val-d’Or will not be idle.

Starting with the construction of a sewer network and a treatment plant for wastewater treatment in the airport sector, for a total investment of $8.3 million.

Another large part of the 2025 budget goes to repaying the debt, which currently stands at just under $78 million.

A payment of $16.4 million will be made in this regard.

The mayor, Céline Brindamour, says that going into debt is inevitable with the essential work that Val-d’Or is undertaking, including the construction of infrastructure to support new homes.
