A vehicle was burned in an arson attack that occurred during the night from Monday to Tuesday in the borough of Saint-Laurent, in Montreal.
It was around 2:45 a.m. that the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) was alerted about a vehicle on fire parked on rue Jean-Bouillet, near chemin du Bois-Franc.

When the police arrived on site, firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) were already controlling the situation.
There are no injuries or any damage to property, but the vehicle is considered a total loss, said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

According to initial information, a suspect was seen leaving the scene, just before the fire started, which suggests the criminal nature of the fire.
The investigation was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM, which will send its investigators to the site at the start of the day to shed light on this event.

No arrests have yet been made in the case, according to the Montreal police spokesperson, who specifies that the vehicle was towed for assessment.
