Murder in Rimouski: firearm found in Pointe-au-Père

After their arrival at the scene of the tragedy, information gathered on site led the police to go in the evening, on November 29, to a residence on Avenue des Goélands, in the Pointe-au-Père district.

At that time, a large security perimeter was erected there. Several Sûreté du Québec vehicles were deployed in the area.

The Phares School Service Center also sent a letter on Monday to the parents of Rose-des-Vents primary school, in Pointe-au-Père, to inform them of a “ special situation” involving students et requiring police intervention.

The investigation continues

More than two weeks after the homicide, the Sûreté du Québec is continuing its investigation in order to arrest the suspect(s).

Around 4:30 p.m. on November 29, Sûreté du Québec police officers from the Rimouski-Neigette MRC station were called to the scene.

Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out on this person but without success. His death was pronounced on the spot.
