While the accusations against P. Diddy shake Hollywood, Jay-Z is in turn in turmoil. His lawyer spoke firmly this Monday, December 16, 2024.
The American Music scene is in the middle of a storm. As sex trafficking accusations target famous rapper P. Diddy, another big name is involved in a similar case. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl alongside P. Diddy. Facts that his lawyer formally denied this Monday, December 16, 2024, during a press conference, as reported by the American media US Weekly.
Only “professional” links with P. Diddy
Jay-Z’s lawyer, Attorney Alex Spiro, took the floor to clarify the situation. He insisted that his client only had a work-related relationship with P. Diddy:
M. Carter [Jay-Z] n’a nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ affair [P. Diddy] nor with Mr. Combs. They had known each other professionally for a number of years.
As in all professions, people know each other. At music awards, they support each other […] There is no closer association between them. It is also a question of fiction.
The lawyer’s statements were accompanied by specific elements intended to discredit the accusations. According to Master Alex Spiro, Jay-Z would have presented “slidesretailerTHEflaws supposed in the story of the accuser”.
A legal process to dismiss the case
Jay-Z’s lawyer also discussed the rapper’s formal request to dismiss the civil suit filed by alleged victim Jane Doe. The latter claims to have was attacked at an after party of the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000. Alex Spiro said:
Jay-Z knows nothing about the accusations or allegations against Diddy. He has nothing to do with this matter and there is nothing more to say.
The lawyer forcefully reaffirmed his client’s innocence:
It is obvious to everyone that Mr. Carter did not do this. It is obvious that Jay-Z did not rape a child.
