The news broke very early this morning. Liam Payne, former member of the British boy band One Direction, died this Wednesday, October 16 after a fall from the third floor of are hotel in Buenos Aires, in Argentina.
According to the American site TMZ, the 31-year-old singer behaved in a manner “unstable” et “agressive”
in the lobby of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, forcing witnesses to call 911 (Argentinian emergency number). “He broke his laptop and had to be taken back to his room”indicated our colleagues at TMZ. Shortly after, several witnesses saw him fall from the balcony of his hotel room. It is not known whether it was a suicide or an accident.
A death that nothing predicted
At around 5:11 p.m. local time, an ambulance arrived at the scene. The rescuers were unfortunately only able to note the death of the singer, noting of the “injuries incompatible with life“, according to Buenos Aires ambulance spokesperson Alberto Crescenti.
A few hours earlier, however, nothing suggested that such a tragedy would occur. Shortly before his death, Liam shared a story on Snapchat, in which
he was quietly having breakfast in his hotel room. He was with Kate Cassidy, his girlfriend.

“Bonjour ! It’s a beautiful day here in Argentina, Liam says, pointing to the lovely view of his hotel room, then to the interior of it.
Here’s our breakfast table, we have a little coffee at like 1 p.m..” “We sleep until noon every day. We are such losers!” continues his girlfriend, seated at the table eating. Liam then reveals his plan for the day, explaining that he intends to go play polo, before posting a photo showing the exterior of the hotel. "Happy to have some time apart," can we read in the caption.
Since the announcement of the singer’s death, these latest stories have gone around the world. They have since been deleted by Liam Payne’s teams.
