A player from the Club du Pays Briançonnais claims to have been the victim of a sexual assault by a player from the Corbelin Rugby Club, during a meeting between the two clubs on October 13. The Briançonnais player filed a complaint.

A player from the Rugby Club du Pays Briançonnais (RCPB) filed a complaint for sexual assault during a match on October 13, according to information from Dauphiné Libéré.

According to the regional daily, the facts occurred during the meeting against the Isérois of Rugby Club Corbelin. The scrum half of the Briançon senior team was the victim of anal digital penetration by an opposing player.

“I want things to be clarified”

Following this complaint, Marion Lozach’meur, the public prosecutor of , affirmed to the daily that “an investigation is underway within the public security district of Briançon, before it is transmitted to the competent unit for the home of the player in question, in northern Isère”.

As for the Rugby Club du Pays Briançonnais, the club announces that it is “working on this issue at the federal level”. “We see with the league and the disputes commission. I want things to be clarified, with the responsibility of the two clubs, the two players and the referee,” declared François Veauleger at the microphone of BFM DICI.
