In recent months, damage has been found on the superstructure of the bridge, especially on the apron. These will now be repaired in order to continue to guarantee the safety of the structure and that of road users.
These are the first repair works going beyond the permanent maintenance measures, necessary since the expansion of the apron between 1994 and 1997. Concretely, the sidewalk will be fully rebuilt, similarly all the pavement joints. In addition, the evacuation of road waters will be improved. Finally, a new coating layer will be placed on the apron.
Traffic on the bridge will remain bidirectional during all the phases of the site, and it can also be crossed on foot as by bicycle, in both directions. On the other hand, the route reserved for public transport must be deleted during the duration of the work. Bus schedules remain unchanged, but the duration of the journey can be slightly extended during peak hours. The costs of the work are estimated at around 2 million francs, entirely covered by the State.
