Dn a press release, the Agency indicates that it “would like to inform public opinion of the immediate measures taken to handle this matter with the greatest rigor”.

Based on the first elements of the investigation, “The alleged involvement of four people was established, including a rider from the nearby Azemmour forest district.”, adds the same source.

To this end, ANEF has filed an official complaint with the King’s Attorney General in El Jadida, in accordance with the legal provisions in force, and is working in close collaboration with the judicial authorities and security services to identify all those responsible and guarantee that they answer for their actions before the courts.

As manager of the national forest heritage, ANEF reaffirms its unwavering commitment to protecting the Kingdom’s forest resources and applying a policy of zero tolerance towards any form of degradation or illegal exploitation. To strengthen these efforts, the Agency will implement all human, technical and logistical resources necessary to clarify the circumstances of this offense and prevent such acts in the future.

It also calls on citizens to collaborate by reporting any illegal acts affecting forests, because their preservation is a collective responsibility in the service of present and future generations and will continue its efforts to enforce the law and preserve the Kingdom’s forest ecosystems within the framework of the “Forests of Morocco 2020-2030” strategy.
