Christophe Blanchetdeputy for the 4th constituency of Calvados, is known for his constant desire to meet his constituents. Driven by an approach of proximityhe favors the dialogue directly with citizens to better understand their concerns daily and raise their expectations at the national level.
Since his election on June 18, 2017, and even before the start of the official campaign, he has increased his visits to the field. Whether with the inhabitants, by going to the markets as he did today Pont-l'Évêque and the following days at Villers-sur-Mer, Trouville-sur-Mer et Blangy-le-Château or with local elected officials, its approach is part of a desire to strengthen the link between citizens and their representatives.
Travel to the heart of the territory
After the Pont-l'Évêque market this morning Christophe Blanchet will be in Villers-sur-Mer tomorrow to interact with local residents and traders. In the afternoon, he will visit the Florent House in Houlgate then the company International Paperlocated in the ZAC of Cabourg Village.
Finally, the MP will visit members of the Club de Motoball of Houlgate.
Wednesday January 8, Christophe Blanchet will walk through the Trouville-sur-Mer market to meet residents and support traders. Then, he will head to Honfleur for a visit to the company Arkema and the logistics center d'ALDI. The MP will end his day with an exchange with the managers of the tea and pastry room Pollen. On Thursday, the parliamentarian will interact with residents and discover local products at the Blangy-le-Château market.
Active listening for better legislation
“For Christophe Blanchet, meeting with citizens is not a simple communication exercise: it allows him to adapt his legislative work to local realities,” notes a member of his constituency council. “By listening directly to the concerns of citizens, he can defend proposed laws and amendments that meet the specific needs of his territory,” he continues.
This propensity to make oneself accessible and to encourage direct contact is often welcomed by residents of the 4th district. “This style of mandate as a field deputy allows him to stay up to date with local issues and to reinforce the idea of a participatory democracy” comments a municipal elected official.
“Christophe Blanchet illustrates a way of exercising the parliamentary function based on listening, dialogue and territorial anchoring, consistent with his commitment to defending the interests of Calvados in the National Assembly” analyzes a specialist in local politics .
However, this activity in the 4th district does not harm the presence of the deputy at the Bourbon palace.
Christophe Blanchet participated in 86% of the solemn votes to the National Assembly during the 16th legislature. This participation rate is higher than the average of MPs, which is 83%, and that of its political group, the Democratic group (MoDem and Independents), which is 82%.
