It has been snowing in large flakes since Thursday morning in Ile-de-France. The region is placed on orange snow-ice alert until Friday 12 p.m. The first snowfall began around 10:00 a.m. in Yvelines before gradually reach the rest of the region. We expect 7 to 12 cm in Yvelines, Val d'Oise and Essonne, 5 to 7 cm in the north of Seine-et-Marne and up to 10 to 12 cm in the south, 3 to 5 cm on the small crown and 1 to 3 cm in the north of the region.
Snow will fall until the early evening this Thursday, Météo France predicts. On the other hand, the hold of the snow on the ground is more uncertain. “But as it will snow all afternoon, the snow will end up accumulating”explained on France Bleu Paris Claire Chanal, forecaster at Météo France.“And with the cold temperatures next night (Thursday to Friday), the snow will still hold until Friday in places,” continues the forecaster.
This is already the case in Yvelines, notably on the PSG campus in Poissy, the training center of the Parisian club, noted a reporter from France Bleu Paris.
Still in Yvelines, the gardens of the Château de Versailles are also covered in white.
Same thing in Seine-et-Marne, near the Fontainebleau forest where the snow holds on the road.
