“Our municipal police issue fines regularly, like the PSIG (gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon), and at the very least have the containers emptied. We must have a balanced approach between prevention and repression. »

“Better adapted gendarmerie personnel”

The mayor of Langon, Jérôme Guillem, specifies that he sent a letter to Bruno RetailleauMinister of the Interior, in order “to have gendarmerie personnel adapted to the city, linked to mobility, the campus and the station”.

“The city welcomes 4,356 students on its campus. Things are happening. You must have the police force of a city where 25,000 people cross paths every day and not a base of 7,500 inhabitants as the Ministry of the Interior maintains. »

A continued decline in state allocations

The mayor requests a enhanced state allocation on 25,000 inhabitants and not 7,500.

“I also questioned our parliamentarians about this allocation. How can we organize our sports infrastructures at the regional level? We are going to be strangled given the decline in funding over the past 10 years. »
