Cyclist airlifted in serious condition after collision with car

The accident occurred this Saturday early in the afternoon, in the town of Muret-le-Château (Aveyron). As our colleagues from La Dépêche point out, for the moment, the circumstances of the collision between the vehicle and the cyclist are not known.

It was around 2 p.m. that the firefighters and the Samu were called to a place called Cantaranne on departmental road 904, in Muret-le-Château, for a frontal collision between a car and a bicycle.

The helicopter cyclist

In total, thirteen firefighters from Marcillac and Villecomtal were dispatched to the scene, as well as a Samu helicopter. On arrival, rescuers resuscitated the 67-year-old man, before organizing a transfer by helicopter to a hospital in Toulouse.

In fact, the latter was in cardio-respiratory arrest a few minutes earlier. The driver, aged 57, was in shock after the accident. However, his condition did not require hospitalization. An investigation should determine, in the coming days, the circumstances of the accident.
