The Gard Departmental Council is relaunching “Les Before”, a system which highlights local artists and supports them towards professionalization. From October 1 to 31, 2024, singers and groups are invited to apply to try to benefit from this unique support.
The Gard Departmental Council is once again relaunching the “Les Before” system, offering local talents a valuable opportunity. Intended for contemporary music artists, this program allows groups and musicians to make themselves known while receiving professional support.
A spotlight on local artists!
Françoise Laurent-Perrigot, president of the Departmental Council and Patrick Malavieille, vice-president of Culture, express their pride in being able to support the local scene: “We are happy to once again be able to invite current artists and music groups from Gard to participate in the Before operation. By highlighting artists and supporting their professionalization, the Departmental Council and its partners promote the emergence and development of a diverse and quality artistic offer throughout the territory,” they say.
The prize: 5,000 euros!
Created in 2013, the system is completely free for participants and focuses on “scenic development, artistic structuring and the professionalization of artists”. Music professionals join this project to evaluate and bring out new talents. The prize for the winner: personalized support worth €5,000, after an assessment of their needs.
Criteria to respect:
To participate, groups or artists must meet specific criteria: be domiciled in Gard, have an active professional approach, an original repertoire of at least 45 minutes, and at least 10 concerts to their credit. Applications are made online, with musical pieces and visuals to be provided before October 31.
October 26on the Paloma stage, the group Hedena, winner of the Before 2022, will be in concert for a free evening: the opportunity to discover this musical system and to dive into the universe of the group, which has since multiplied the stages, from Besançon to Marseille!
Next December 6 at the Ombrière d’Uzès
The selection process will continue with a listening to the pieces submitted by the candidates on November 4, before a coaching phase between November 15 and 30. The highlight will be the final concert at the Ombrière d’Uzès on December 6 during which the public and a jury will choose the 2024 winner.
This program is carried out in partnership with several cultural actors: Le Pont du Gard, Da Storm, the Musight club and numerous local radio stations, thus guaranteeing visibility and quality support for the selected artists! So don’t wait any longer!
