The bodies were exhumed in the state of Chihuahua between Tuesday and Friday, with the support of the army, according to the press release from the regional prosecutor's office without any details on the possible identity of the victims.

Over the days, investigators found bodies, complete skeletons and scattered bones, bullet casings and clothing.

The remains were sent to forensic laboratories to determine “the causes and time of death, as well as the identity of the victims,” added the prosecution, which is committed to “providing legal certainty to the families” of the deceased people.
