A few days after the spectacular kidnapping of David Belland, co-founder of Ledger, a company specializing in cryptocurrency, a similar affair broke out in Aube, we learned from a source close to the matter. According to our information, confirming that of the JDD, four men were arrested Friday evening in Sainte-Savine, in the suburbs of Troyes, after the kidnapping and sequestration of a 30-year-old man, a “cryptocurrency miner”.
It all starts when the victim, who earns his income by validating online cryptocurrency transactions, goes to a “professional meeting” in Sainte-Savine. There, the thirty-year-old fell into an ambush, indicates a police source. Four individuals are present for the meeting, including a client with whom the victim had a commercial dispute.
The thirty-year-old is then sequestered in a pavilion and his captors demand 20,000 euros to free him. Without knowing the circumstances, the victim managed to alert a friend who informed the police.
-When they arrived at the house around 10 p.m., the police found the victim in good health. The four perpetrators of the kidnapping are arrested. The Troyes public prosecutor's office confirmed these arrests, without further details at this stage. An investigation has been opened and the Troyes police station has been contacted, the prosecutor's office said.
On Tuesday, David Balland, co-founder and former employee of Ledger, a company specializing in securing cryptoassets, and his partner, were kidnapped from their home in Méreau (Cher). They have since been released, and seven people have been detained, suspected of being involved in the kidnapping and sequestration, with acts of torture, of the co-founder of Ledger.
