A motorist in his seventies died following a collision between two vehicles that occurred around 5 p.m. Friday, on Route 281 in Saint-Magloire, in the MRC des Etchemins.

According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, the driver who lost his life deviated from his lane in a curve near the junction with rue Principale, leading to a face-to-face encounter with a vehicle which was traveling in opposite direction.

The death was noted on the spot, according to the SQ.

The two occupants of the other vehicle were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. We do not fear for their lives, reports the spokesperson for the SQCamille Savoie.
