On January 23, 2025, a skier was discovered lifeless, off the marked slopes, near the Anzère ski area. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation.

A skier was discovered lifeless on Thursday, around 3:25 p.m. near the Anzère ski area, the Valais police announced on Friday. The body was discovered by another skier who was walking on the summer path at a place called Chaux de Duez.

After alerting 144, the man tried to resuscitate the victim. Télé Anzère patrol boats as well as an Air-Glaciers crew were dispatched to the site. Despite their efforts, the victim, a 74-year-old Swiss man, died on the spot. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this event.
