“As the day progressed, there were more and more cases, reaching around 80 at the end of the day: 30 in primary school and 50 in middle school,” explains the director, Philippe Dupouy. No serious cases have been reported to management, parents have been informed of the situation.
“Transparency”
Analyzes were carried out. For water, “the first results revealed a normal chlorine level and the additional results will be known later,” specifies the head of the establishment. The Tartas firefighters then carried out air quality checks in the hypothesis of carbon monoxide poisoning. “The results were negative,” reassures Philippe Dupouy.
“All parents of students were kept informed of the situation via the École direct platform. We told them that we were following the protocol recommended by the Regional Health Agency (ARS). Everything was done transparently because we have nothing to hide,” replies the director. At the beginning of the evening, after the students had left, the premises were disinfected.
