The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) marks a strategic turning point by participating in force in the 45th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, from January 22 to 26, 2025. Accompanied by 180 key players in the Moroccan tourism sector, The ONMT demonstrates its desire to strengthen its presence in the Iberian market, one of the most dynamic for the Kingdom.

The year 2024 confirmed the growth of Spanish tourism in Morocco, with a record flow of 3.5 million Iberian visitors, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year. To meet this growing demand, air capacity was increased by 20% this winter, and new routes, such as Madrid-Dakhla and Lanzarote-Dakhla, aim to support an expected growth of 8% for summer 2025.

During this international event, which attracts 153,000 professionals and 97,000 visitors from 152 countries, the Moroccan pavilion highlighted the authenticity and cultural assets of the Kingdom. This year, the spotlight turned to the regions of Errachidia and Tangier, symbols of diversity and attractiveness. The national companies Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia have also joined this initiative to promote connections to Morocco.

At the same time, the ONMT has entered into strategic partnerships with major tourism players, notably CEAV (Spain), APAVT (Portugal) and FAAV (Andalusia). These collaborations will make it possible to host prestigious events such as the CEAV Travel Days in October 2025 or the APAVT annual congress in 2026, bringing together hundreds of Iberian prescribers.

The ONMT has also strengthened its cooperation with tour operating leaders such as Avoris, Solferias, Expedia and TripAdvisor. In addition, a historic partnership with GEA, a network of 2,500 agencies in Latin America, Portugal and Brazil, will put Morocco in the spotlight in these strategic regions.

In view of major sporting events such as the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup, an ambitious plan has been developed with Africa Morocco Links, including a new Tarifa-Tangier Ville maritime link to intensify tourist flows between Morocco and the Balearics.

This massive participation in FITUR 2025 demonstrates the ambition of the ONMT: to make Morocco a flagship destination in the Iberian markets and consolidate its position among the world leaders in tourism.
