The Government Council, gathered this Thursday in Rabat, learned of two international conventions relating to maritime transport. They were presented by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita.
The first agreement, adopted by the International Labor Organization in 2003, concerns the identification of seafarers and aims to improve their travel and working conditions. Its approval is supervised by bill n ° 63.24.
The second convention concerns the 2002 protocol to the Athens Convention in 1974, which sets responsibilities in terms of passenger transport and their luggage by sea. This text is accompanied by Bill 62.24, subject to the ‘Government exam.
-These international agreements are part of Morocco’s desire to strengthen its maritime legal framework and guarantee better protection of workers and passengers in the sector.
