€227,000 in CAF fraud: the owners of a southern Finistère campsite sentenced

The court delivered its deliberations this Thursday, January 23, concerning the proceedings of the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) against a couple of managers of a campsite in southern Finistère. Since 2015, this establishment with around a hundred pitches, labeled holiday stay by the CAF, has received aid for each recipient's stay. Between 2017 and 2019, the establishment received more than €300,000 for hundreds of stays in their mobile homes.

One year suspended prison sentence

A fairly substantial sum, which aroused suspicion. Between 2015 and 2019, the number of beneficiaries increased elevenfold in this campsite, revealed the CAF, which launched an investigation. The feedback was edifying for the managers, who had their approval withdrawn but continued their activity. Nearly 300 declared beneficiaries would not have stayed on the site. For fraud estimated at more than €220,000.

They faced a sentence of 18 months in prison, including twelve months suspended. The judges sentenced them to twelve months in prison. The amounts to be reimbursed will be discussed on September 22.
