Friday January 10, Gildas Guyader, the mayor of Saint-Gilles-Pligeaux (Côtes-d'Armor) presented the wishes of the municipality to the population.

A camera at the town collection point

If the mayor announced several good news in his speech, he also mentioned a subject that was much less pleasant for the town and its residents. “I come back to a recurring subject. Waste is regularly deposited at the collection point. Despite our efforts to raise awareness on this subject, illegal dumping continues,” lamented Gildas Guyader. “A surveillance camera will be installed to identify fraudsters. »

Several municipalities around Guingamp already have cameras

This is not the first municipality in the region to decide to install one or more cameras on its territory. For example, the municipality of Pabunear Guingamp, had also installed 9 cameras in 2019 to fight against incivility.

Quemper-Guézennec also has been doing this same thing for several years. The municipality of Plouisy also had five cameras installed. While Saint-Agathon also took the decision to equip itself with a video protection system to fight against delinquency.
