The goal is made for Real Madrid. Last Wednesday, the Madrid club enjoyed a great success against Red Bull Salzburg for the seventh day of the league phase of the Champions League. The Merengue are guaranteed to finish in the top 24, before the final meeting. However, this is not the case for Manchester City. At a press conference, Carlo Ancelotti did not hide his desire to see the Skyblues eliminated:
“Manchester City? He is one of the candidates to win the Champions League again and it would be good news if he fails to qualify.”
Manchester City fell out of the top 24 in the league phase after their defeat against PSG (4-2). However, he still has his chances of reaching the play-offs. On the last day, the Mancunian club will host Club Brugge. He will only need one victory to move past his next opponent and join the top 24.
