CAs every year, around the same dates, the Agrocampus of Saintonge (local public agricultural education and training establishment) opens its doors to the public (1). Schoolchildren, apprentices and adults are welcomed to discover the wide range of education offered by the establishments located in Saintes and Jonzac.
Various fields
In total, the Agrocampus brings together eight establishments: high schools, training centers and farms. In partnership with professionals in the sector and local institutions, it offers a range of training courses ranging from third year to BTS, including general, technological and professional baccalaureates, as well as CAP, BP and certifications. The sectors cover various fields such as agronomy, the environment, biology, breeding, viticulture, horticulture, market gardening, trade and sales, water management, landscaping, etc.
The Agrocampus also stands out for its educational approach focused on practice and innovation, in line with the demands of the world of today and tomorrow. “Our establishments have quality structures, such as a dairy farm, horticultural greenhouses and a wine farm. And in addition to its educational mission, the Agrocampus is resolutely internationally oriented. It actively supports mobility and international exchanges, allowing its pupils and students to enrich their careers,” underlines the management.
In Saintes and Jonzac
Three days for information are therefore being organized over the coming weeks on the three sites: at the Georges-Desclaude high schools, Le Petit Chadignac and at the Training Center for apprentices and adults in Saintes, and at the Le Renaudin high school in Saint-Germain-de- Lusignan, near Jonzac. Open days held on Saturday January 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday March 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday April 16 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
-“These days are a unique opportunity to discover the training offered by establishments in the fields of agriculture, environment and nature, with courses ranging from third year to post-baccalaureate training, in academic training, apprenticeships and resumption of studies”, confirms the Agrocampus communications department, which specifies: “Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the teaching teams and current pupils and students, to visit the infrastructures of the establishments and to find out about the different routes training. These days are open to all young people passionate about the environment, nature and the living world, as well as adults undergoing career change. Personalized advice will be offered to help each young person build their project and choose the path that suits them. »
