Back to school 2025 in : the academy advocates inclusive education

In order to evoke academic orientations and priorities for the 2025/2026 school year, Sophie Béjean, rector from the academy, met the elected officials of in Nîmes on Monday January 20, 2025.

This meeting highlighted several major issues for the department, including support for students in a situation of handicap and the development of sporting activities.

2,000 support positions announced by the academy

To improve educational inclusion, “2,000 new positions for supporting students with disabilities (AESH) will be created” and “additional measures for an inclusive school will be put in place”specifies Sophie Béjean.

These measures aim to ensure that every student benefits from course adapted to your needs. Particular attention will be paid to the continuing training of AESH so that they can provide even more personalized and quality support.

Pour the second degreeemphasis will be placed on strengthening fundamental knowledge in college. “We will renovate the needs groups for 6 year old studentse et 5e and we will devote resources to the development of the “homework done” system.explains Sophie Béjean.

“These actions aim to improve guidance and support for students throughout their school career.” Furthermore, the development of sports activities will also be strengthened, in order to promote physical and sports education that is more dynamic and accessible to all.

Training tailored to students’ needs

At the level of high schooladapting the training offer will be a central issue. “This involves opening training in sectors in tension or very attractive such as industry, personal services and specialized training in different fields”specifies Sophie Béjean.

This approach aims to respond to the labor market needs while improving the attractiveness of educational and professional paths. This meeting between Sophie Béjean and the elected officials of Gard made it possible to lay the foundations of an educational project which aims to improve access to a inclusive education and quality, while meeting the needs specific to the students.
