After robbing a jewelry store in Ille-et-Vilaine, he starts a fire to escape

The city center of Fougères was the scene of a robbery a little after 9 a.m. this Thursday, January 23, 2025. Armed and hooded, an individual targeted the La Guilde des Orfèvre jewelry store, at 2 Place Gambetta.

Under threat, the manager was forced to give him several valuable pieces of jewelry. While fleeing, the robber started a fire which spread throughout the building. He may have disappeared before the police arrived.

Called to the scene, firefighters quickly brought the outbreak under control. No injuries were reported. The amount of the robbery is not yet known. A police investigation was opened.
