Six cars burned during a fire in a garage in Haute-

Just before 1 a.m., on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the garage manager, a 29-year-old man living next to his workplace, was awakened by the sound of a car burning. This vehicle had been left by its owner a few hours previously and the mechanic had not yet looked at it. The flames quickly spread to five vehicles parked nearby.

A device of 14 firefighters, placed under the command of Lieutenant Ludovic Ballandraux, head of the Saint-Just-Malmont center, including personnel from Velay Sumène, was engaged. When they arrived, all six cars were already on fire. They extinguished the fire and protected a house which was about ten meters away.

In total, six cars ended up burned. The electrical installation supplying the garage and the house was impacted, requiring rehousing. The gendarmerie opened an investigation, but the cause of the incident appears to be accidental.
