“We continue to work, sportingly and in one of our important tasks, the restructuring of the debt. The renewal of the observation period means that debts are frozen for another six months. Yes, it's 110 million euros. We will be able to work calmly for the next six months to restructure the debt. This is an important element for the future of the club. We have a significant debt. We have already started to have discussions with certain creditors. We're on our way. It will also free the athlete’s mind a little, because everything is correlated.”
How to reduce the debt, through negotiations?
“I have been a business manager for a number of years. I had to deal with this situation in one way or the other, as a creditor or the other way around. Yes, we come to see the creditors, and we ask them if they would be ready to abandon part of the debt, with the certainty of recovering at least 50% rather than losing everything, for example. This is not specific to the Girondins de Bordeaux, it is specific to any society in this situation. This is what we are going to do in the coming weeks”
