For the first day of official competition, three special stages will take place in Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence this Thursday: Digne-les-Bains/Chaudon-Norante, Faucon-du-Caire/Bréziers and Avançon/Notre -Lady-of-Laus. Traffic restrictions are expected on the route.
For this first day of the Monte-Carlo Rally this Thursday, January 22, the drivers will compete on three special stages. As a result, the Hautes-Alpes are affected by several road closures and restrictions.
Several roads closed on the route in the Hautes-Alpes
The routes of the route, the RD1 and the RD210 to Bréziers will be closed from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. La D951 from Bréziers towards Turriers will be open to traffic but the authorized speed will be limited to 50km/h.
The other 100% high-alpine special will take place between Avançon and Notre Dame du Laus. Traffic conditions will be particularly complicated around Bâtie-Vieille and Notre-Dame-du-Laus. The pilots will pass through the RD6, the RD306 and the RD211. These roads used by the pilots will be closed this Thursday from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The routs of Jarjayes will also be closed to traffic like the Laus road, the RD111 which leads to the sanctuary. The RD342 will be open but limited to 50km/h between Avançon and a little after Valserres.
-Disturbances in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
In the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, eight municipalities will be crossed by the pilots this Thursday, Digne-les-Bains, Chaudon-Norante, Faucon-du-Caire, Gigors, Bellafaire, Turriers, La Bréole and Quellenet.
The pilots will pass through the D20 (Col du Corobin) between Digne-les-Bains and Chaudon-Norante, it will be closed to all vehicles from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Around the special stage RD120 will also be closed to traffic at the same times.
The drivers will then compete on special 2 between Faucon-du-Caire and Bréziers. They will borrow the RD951 between Cairo Falcon and Gigors, the RD951A between Turriers and Bellafaire and the RD1, these roads will be completely inaccessible from 1:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Parking will also be largely modified in areas close to the race.
