Installed in the premises of Gers Solidaire, the Ruche du Baron approved by the CAF du Gers is located on the street at 50 chemin du Baron. It is the second social and cultural center of the city of Auch which aims to be as close as possible to the inhabitants of its territory, it is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. .
The director of Gers solidaire, Marie-Pierre Desbons, details the operation of the Ruche du Baron, which relies on 11 employees including 4 nurses who operate in the 30 locations in the department distributing food aid, three people including the director, Elise Bourdieu, the family representative and the reception and entertainment agent, 2 digital advisors, the director of Gers solidaire and the accounting manager.
As for the essential missions of the Ruche du Baron, Elise Bourdieu reveals them, the priority of which is “to develop the social bond between residents to fight against isolation”, and since January 1st, support for parenthood with Manon Jacquey who develops actions for families with children but also for the “accidents” of life so that they regain self-confidence. Various workshops in a dedicated room are offered to them, singing, cooking, board games, yoga and others on the contrary brought their know-how such as sewing.
But also Culture is placed within the reach of “the inhabitants of the Ruche du Baron” who actively participated in the Memento exhibition, “L’Union libre”, where they played the role of “Passeurs de l’Art” . “A partnership which proved to be much more than a simple cultural approach where the inhabitants of La Ruche gradually invested in the project, becoming cultural actors themselves. This partnership was a human and artistic adventure where the inhabitants of La Ruche and contemporary art learned to discover each other,” summarizes Elise Bourdieu.
-A CAF social worker is made available to the social center and residents of La Ruche du Baron can also benefit from food aid by contacting the Red Cross located in the Gers Solidaire premises.
