convicted of sexual assault, Nicolas Bedos gives up appeal “for the sake of appeasement”

Three months after his sentence to one year in prison, including six months suspended, for sexual violence committed against several women, Nicolas Bedos announced that he was withdrawing his appeal. The announcement was made through Julia Minkowski, his lawyer, to AFP.

“Turn the page”

“He hopes that this withdrawal will allow each and everyone to being able to turn the page and move forward“, she explained. The actor and director would therefore give up “for the sake of appeasement”.

As a reminder, Nicolas Bedos was tried in September 2024 for three cases. The first that the court examined concerns facts that occurred on the night of June 1 to 2, 2023 in a Paris night club . In a state of intoxication, he allegedly walked towards a young woman and held out his hand to her crotch.

The second affair took place a few months earlier, in May 2023, also in a nightclub and involved a waitress whom he allegedly kissed on the neck without any consent. Latest case: in 2018, at Gilles Lellouche, Nicolas Bedos would have harassed a woman several times.

During his hearing, he continued to proclaim his innocence. “I am aware that I can appear odious, pathetic, aggressive with men and womenand just about everyone,” he conceded before the judges.
