Thanks to an extension on its roof, the young workers' home in (Val-d'Oise), built in 1969, now has 152 places, including 17 for people with reduced mobility.

A first renovation was carried out in 1993but this time, it is a total rehabilitation which has disrupted the equipment, closed on March 31, 2022 to begin the vast 11 million euro project.

Only the walls have been preserved. 140 studios, from 18 to 32 m2now have individual toilets, equipment which was previously detached from the accommodation.

The kitchen and the refectory were removed.

Each unit is equipped with a hob and a microwave.

The underground car parks and sheds have been transformed into a convivial space.

The building was raised by one floor with twelve housing units and the loggias were reinstated in order to increase the surface area of ​​the apartments.

All doors and windows have been changed. The facades are completed with an insulating renovation.

“The building thus went from energy class E to B,” underlines Freddy Jackowsky, president of theTo the left (association for the housing of young workers in Val-d'Oise), which manages the Louvrais home, whose building is owned by the lessor Erigère.

Personnel permanent

To reside at the home, you must be between 18 and 25 years old and have resources.

Students, apprentices, young employees… are housed for two years.

“Young people helped by Ase (Children's Social Assistance) can also be welcomed, like a parent in distress, accompanied by a child,” explains Colette Levaillant, vice-president of Aljevo.

The tenant is supported by socio-educational workers “when he needs support in his social journey”, explains Freddy Jackowsky.

A reception agent and a night watchman ensure a permanent presence in the home.

The Aljevo has a 72-place foyer in Beaumont-sur-Oise (created in 1968), another in , opened in 2015, and a next one planned for 2026 in the Bossut district, replacing that of Marcouville (1972). ), soon to be destroyed.

These are the 92 tenants of the Marcouville home who were relocated to the Louvrais home, which reopened on January 3.

The next home for young workers in the Bossut district will have 92 places and 58 others for students. A novelty for Aljevo.
