-Inforoute 21 informs that traffic is difficult in the east of the department due to light freezing showers. “The roads and sidewalks are locally very slippery”according to Côte-d'Or weather account X.
Salting operations are underway in the area of Aignay-le-Duc, Saulieu, Fontaine-Française and Pontailler-sur-Saône. Regarding the rest of the department, traffic conditions are “normal” but can be locally delicate. “The greatest caution is therefore recommended. Adapt your driving to the traffic conditions and give priority to winter service vehicles.”
Météo France had placed the Côte-d'Or department on yellow alert “snow-ice” from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. this Wednesday, January 22 with “an episode of rain on frozen ground and a risk of icy conditions concentrated in the eastern part of the department.” Saône-et-Loire was also concerned.
As a reminder, freezing rain had already appeared at the start of the year, and it had caused a lot of damage. Traffic had been difficult, if not impossible, in certain sectors in Côte-d'Or and portions of the A6 and the A38 had been closed. In total, around fifty accidents were recorded.
