This Tuesday afternoon, five days before the clash between Gym and OM at the Allianz Riviera, the Nice club published a press release on its website in which it is already planning on the expected arbitration during the derby.
The club chaired by Jean-Pierre Rivère explains that it has carefully followed the recent media outings of Marseille managers and players (after Lille and Strasbourg) and hopes that they will not have repercussions on the refereeing of Eric Wattellier on Sunday evening ( 8:45 p.m.).
The Gym also specifies that it has already been penalized this season during a trip to Lyon, which is true (unsanctioned foul by Ćaleta-Car on Guessand). He's not the only one though.
“For peaceful debates on Sunday”: the OGC Nice press release
As the derby at the Allianz Riviera approaches, OGC Nice is paying close attention to the latest communications from its future opponent, Olympique de Marseille.
OGC Nice is committed to ensuring that the serenity of next Sunday's debates is not swept away by this media storm regarding the refereeing during the Marseille club's previous meetings.
-Having been heavily penalized during its trip to Lyon, the Gym does not intend to suffer the consequences again.
OGC Nice therefore expects the meeting to take place without external influence and in compliance with the laws of the game.
