In a global context where sustainability and digitalization are at the heart of industrial concerns, CITIC Dicastal Maroc stands out by becoming the first African factory to be recognized as a “Lighthouse Factory” by the World Economic Forum. This distinction, announced on January 14, 2025, rewards not only its technological advances, but also its commitment to a green and intelligent industry.
The factory, located in the Kenitra Atlantic Free Zone, is a concrete example of the application of the principles of Industry 4.0. Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence and big data, CITIC Dicastal Maroc has succeeded in optimizing each stage of its production, from the selection of raw materials to the packaging of finished products. These innovations have enabled a reduction of more than 31% in the rate of defective products and an increase of more than 26% in productivity.
But what particularly distinguishes CITIC Dicastal Maroc is its commitment to the ecological transition. The factory has implemented systems for real-time collection and analysis of energy consumption data, allowing optimized management of resources. These efforts led to “carbon neutral” certification, a first in the region. In collaboration with the Moroccan Institute of Standardization, the factory is working to develop national standards for green supply chains and zero-carbon factories.
Mr. Badr Lahmoudi, President of CITIC Dicastal Morocco, underlined the importance of this recognition: “This award is the result of close collaboration between our Chinese and Moroccan teams, as well as our partners. It inspires greater growth and innovation in African industries, while bringing us closer to a greener and more sustainable future. »
