The firefighters are meeting this year on the slopes of Serre Chevalier for the 2025 French firefighter ski championship. This sporting event, which brings together volunteer and professional firefighters from all over France, is much more than a competition: “It is a celebration of team spirit, solidarity and excellence”, indicates, in a press release, Captain Christophe Albert, head of the fire and relief of Serre Chevalier.
The 170 participants will have the opportunity to compete in alpine skiing events, in a mountain setting. This championship highlights the importance of the physical preparation and agility of firefighters, who are trained not only to rescue people and extinguish fires, but also to protect the environment.
