The Haute-Garonne Departmental Rowing Committee (CDA31), in partnership with the department's clubs, successfully sponsored the third regional stage of the CNJ (National Youth Challenge) which took place in Castelnau d'Estretefonds. This event is part of the selection process for the J13-14 categories, aiming to highlight the young talents of affiliated clubs. A high-level competition. These are 55 young athletes, aged 11 to 14 years old and from 8 clubs out of the 14 in the region, who competed during a demanding course, made up of 17 varied events: Running, Push-ups, Burpees, Long jump, tirade rowing with kettlebell, jumping jacks, etc. to end with a key event: 10 minutes of effort and regularity on an ergometer. This day was marked by great energy and strong will from the participants, who gave everything to proudly represent their clubs and maximize their chances of selection. Winter preparation and outlook. This regional stage constitutes an essential part of the winter preparation for these young rowers. It precedes the training course organized this weekend in Villemur-sur-Tarn, where 9 girls and 12 boys, accompanied by their coxswains, will refine their preparation for the next big event: the Marignane Eight Duels, scheduled for February 8 and 9, 2025. The CDA31, thanks to this dynamic and its constant support for the clubs, continues to play a central role in the emergence and promotion of young rowing talents in Haute-Garonne.
