The Provence Alpes Agglomération community has installed no less than a hundred new parking lots for bicycles on its territory, including six terminals allowing electric bicycles to be recharged.
Promote gentle and active mobility on a daily basis. This is the whole objective of Provence Alpes Agglomération which put in place, between last September and December, a set of facilities for cyclists. The community specifically installed 116 bike parking spacesincluding six charging stations for those with electrical assistance. And this, on 20 sites in its territory. An operation costing €90,179.76 which was financed to the tune of €44,407 as part of the European LEADER program.
Where are these new equipment for cyclists?
“The majority of the targeted sites are open to the general public. The equipment is thus made available to community agents but also local residents and tourists », Indicates the urban community in a press release. They can notably be found in front of the Digne-les-Bains media library, the Mallemoisson and Moustiers Sainte-Marie nurseries, the IDBL art school, the Promenade Museum or even the Fanget nature site.
-Please note that the use of charging stations for electrically assisted bicycles is completely free. “Equipped with a box to secure the battery and the bike, the terminals operate using a universal socket,” specifies the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence community. All the charging stations are already usable except the one located at the Simone-Signoret cultural center. Its “commissioning is planned for spring 2025, once the renovation of the site is completed,” announces Provence Alpes Agglomération.
