In Tarn, as everywhere in France, only 4% of eligible people donate blood. However, any healthy person, aged 18 to the day before their 71st birthday, can donate blood by going to the collection points of the French Blood Establishment (EFS), whether they are fixed or itinerant.
Where to donate blood?
You can go directly to the Maison du Don in Albi, open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It is advisable to make an appointment.
Mobile collections are also organized across the Tarn to allow as many people as possible to participate. Here are the next meetings near you:
-- Gaillac: from Wednesday February 5 to Saturday February 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (except 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday), Salle Bouzinac. Objectives: 235 bags collected.
- Albi: Monday February 10 to Tuesday February 11, from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Champollion University. Objectives: 120 bags collected.
- Graulhet: Wednesday February 12 and Thursday February 13, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Salle du Foulon. Objectives: 110 bags collected.
- Labruguière: Monday February 17, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Salle de la Fabrique. Objectives: 70 bags collected.
- Lavaur: from Tuesday February 18 to Thursday February 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Halle d'Occitanie. Objectives: 225 bags collected.

A successful week of solidarity to donate blood
From December 16 to 29, 2024, EFS Occitanie led an unprecedented campaign. During the “Solidarity December” operation, the EFS committed to donating 1 euro to the Enfants Cancers Santé association for each donor who came to a collection point. Among the 10,864 donors who mobilized during these two weeks, 830 were from Tarnes.
