It was around 12:30 p.m. when the firefighters intervened on rue Grappelli in the 17th arrondissement of the capital due to a fire in an apartment from the 1st floor, learned actu with the Fire Brigade (BSPP).

The fire brought under control

Alerted by a neighbor, rescuers quickly arrived on site. They managed to enter the apartment engulfed in flames where they discovered a man in cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he died shortly after.

Still according to the court, it was the occupant of the premises, a man born in June 1962 and suffering from Diogenes syndrome. The fire was brought under control the victim's apartment.

An investigation was opened to destruction by fire resulting in death and manslaughter.
