Tambacounda, January 20 (APS) – The School and Business Training Program (PF2E) opened two training classes on Monday for the benefit of 40 young people from the departments of Tambacounda and Goudiry (east), noted the APS.
“For this year, the PF2E has opened two training schools including CAP training [Certificat d’aptitude professionnelle] hairdressing, in Tambacounda, and the other in CPS [Certificat professionnel de spécialisation] broiler farm management agents, in Goudiry,” declared Moustapha Thiam, branch manager of the Regional School-Business Program in Tambacounda.
He was speaking during the opening ceremony of the two classes, during which apprenticeship contracts were given to forty learners enrolled and distributed in equal numbers in two classes, and to the heads of training companies.
”For the CAP hairdressing, the duration of the training is 3 years, while for the CPS broiler farm management agents the duration of the training is one year,” he said. specified.
”The school-company training program is implementing a dual training model combining classroom theory and business practice in order to optimize the match between the training provided by vocational training establishments and the jobs available in the job market,” underlined Moustapha Thiam.
The head of the Tambacounda school-business training branch also indicated that more than 500 young people have been supported since the advent of PFE2 in this region of eastern Senegal.
-”We have been in Tambacounda since 2020. From this year to 2024, PF2E has supported more than 500 young people spread across 41 training companies and 5 professional training establishments. We recorded 173 admissions in the certification exams in sectors such as metal carpentry, horticulture and poultry farming, etc.,” he said.
Implemented by the Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training, the PF2E aims to promote professional qualification and support for integration, employability but also the involvement of local businesses in the training process for young people.
