Périgord rugby is in mourning after the death of a player from the Prigonrieux team this Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Pons in Charente-Maritime. Indeed, the pillar of Prigonrieux, Cédric Pagot, died during the match against Pons, as revealed this morning by our colleagues from South West and confirmed by “ici Périgord” this Monday January 20. According to several witnesses present at the time of the 38-year-old's death, he appears to have suffered a heart attack.

According to supporters present around the pitch, Cédrid Pagot was not the victim of a dangerous tackle, nor even of a violent collision with an opponent. The players as well as the staff of RC Prigontin plan to gather in a small group this Tuesday, January 21 to pay tribute “to this generous, friendly, very good player and a friend to many people here”. During his playing career, Cédric Pagot wore the colors of US , Issigeac and Prigonrieux.
