SENEGAL ENTERS THE ERA OF ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST CORRUPTION

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko reaffirmed his government’s determination to eradicate corruption and embezzlement of public funds, during the closing of the Conference of public administrators and managers, which was held this Monday at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (Cicada).

“Since March 24, 2024, Senegal has officially entered the era of zero tolerance in terms of financial embezzlement and corrupt practices,” declared the head of government, emphasizing the importance of this reform for the future of the country.

He called on public officials to ban all forms of deviance and to respect the ethical and deontological standards that govern their function.

Ousmane Sonko insisted on the need for rigorous accountability.

“Every cent spent in public finances must be justified to citizens,” he said, promising increased transparency in the management of state resources.
