MISCELLANEOUS FACTS. Sunday evening, a quad rider was found under his damaged vehicle on a trail in 12e Rank, at Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil. His death was pronounced at the hospital.

According to Laurie Avoine, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), it was another user of the trail who discovered the person in distress, around 8 p.m. Sunday.

“He swerved and found himself under his all-terrain vehicle. He was transported to the hospital center. We would fear for our lives,” explained L’Express the spokesperson at the time of the incident.

Monday morning, Sergeant Louis-Philippe Ruel, also spokesperson for the SQ, confirmed the death of a 46-year-old man.

Citizens accompanied the police to the scene of the accident which was approximately two kilometers away in the woods. Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover firefighters brought the victim back to the road using a stretcher sled.

A patrol officer trained in collision investigation was assigned to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the event.
