A mysterious, but revealing announcement
On January 16, Nick Mohammed posted a video on X to inform his fans of a change to his UK stand-up tour, titled Show Pony
. He explained that some dates planned for April would be rearranged due to commitments related to another shoot (ahem…).
Although he did not specify the nature of this project, a detail in the video caused chaos : a sign bearing the inscription Believe
in the background. Enough to make fans swoon in front of this emblematic symbol of Ted Lasso.
An undeniable success
Since its launch, Ted Lasso has become one of the most popular series on Apple TV+. With Jason Sudeikis in the leading role, the show won the hearts of spectators thanks to its unique blend of comedy, emotion and positivity. A breath of fresh air after covid… The third season, which concluded with Ted leaving England to return home to Kansas, was hailed as a satisfying conclusion.
However, this ending hasn't stopped speculation about a possible sequel. Apple CEO Tim Cook himself reportedly expressed his hope for a fourth season during a conversation with Jeremy Swift (aka Leslie Higgins). In August 2024, a media outlet reported that Warner Bros. had renewed the contract options of several main actors, including Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Jeremy Swift and Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent). Although Jason Sudeikis has not yet been confirmed, reports indicate that pre-production for season 4 would have started in January 2025, thus corroborating the information hinted by Nick Mohammed.
An expected return, but in what form?
If a fourth season of Ted Lasso sees the light of day, it remains to be seen how the series will continue the story after the departure of the trainer. Some theories suggest that the series could refocus its plot on other characters like Nate, Roy, or Rebecca, thus allowing the universe to continue to evolve while offering new perspectives.
-For the moment, no official announcement has been made, but fans of the series can hope that the rumors are confirmed. With its inspiring message and its cultural impact, Ted Lasso remains a series that marked its era and could well continue to do so. One word: Believe!
